ALBANY, Ga. — Albany State University Athletics welcomes Christopher Myers as its new Director of Athletic Communications, bringing more than 26 years of experience in collegiate athletic communications, media relations, public relations and strategic content development to the Golden Rams.
Myers joins Albany State with an extensive background in athletic communications and sports information. Most recently, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Myers Remote Communications Services, where he provided athletic communications support for multiple institutions. His previous work includes serving as the Remote Director of Athletic Communications at Fort Valley State University, as well as athletic communications writing for Albany State University, Southeastern University and Waldorf University.
Prior to launching his remote communications work, Myers served as Director of Athletic Communications at Fort Valley State University from 2018-24. During his tenure, he managed athletic communications operations, developed website and social media content, handled media requests, coordinated interviews, developed marketing strategies and assisted with event management.

Those fundamentals remain incredibly important to what we do," said Albany State Director of Athletics Dr. Kristene Kelly.
Myers also brings experience from Wheeling Jesuit University, Humboldt State University and The Punxsutawney Spirit, where he worked in sports information, communications and sports journalism. His background includes media relations, content development, statistical records, game-day operations, post-game interviews and promotional communications.
A native of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Myers earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Education in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University.
Myers officially begins his tenure with Albany State Athletics on August 10, 2026.
