Albany, Ga. — Albany State Athletics continued to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in the classroom during the Spring 2026 semester, as Golden Ram student-athletes once again delivered outstanding academic performances across the department.
Albany State Athletics concluded the spring semester with an impressive 3.13 department GPA while maintaining a strong cumulative GPA of 3.19. The department's academic success reflects the dedication, discipline, and work ethic displayed by student-athletes as they balanced the demands of competition, academics, community service, and campus involvement throughout the year.
A total of 165 student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the spring semester, accounting for 62.03 percent of the department's 266 student-athletes. Those individuals were recognized as members of the Spring 2026 Athletic Director's Honor Roll, an honor awarded to student-athletes who achieve a grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
Among the department's top academic performers, 35 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the semester. Additionally, 57 student-athletes recorded GPAs between 3.5 and 3.99, while 73 student-athletes finished the semester with GPAs ranging between 3.0 and 3.49.
The accomplishments highlight the department's continued emphasis on academic achievement and student development beyond athletics. While Albany State teams competed at a high level throughout the year, the success achieved in the classroom further reflects the culture of accountability and excellence being built throughout Golden Ram Athletics.
The Spring 2026 semester marked another milestone in Albany State Athletics' ongoing mission to develop well-rounded student-athletes prepared for success both during and after their collegiate careers.

ABOUT ALBANY STATE ATHLETICS
Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 11 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, baseball, and football, with all teams competing in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), except women's soccer, which participates in the Peach Belt Conference.
