Golden Rams Dominate Senior Day Doubleheader To Sweep Miles

Albany, Ga. — The Albany State Golden Rams made Senior Day unforgettable with a powerful performance, sweeping Miles College in commanding style. They won the home conference finale doubleheader at the ASU Baseball Field, with scores of 15-1 in the first game and 18-2 in the second.

From the first pitch to the final out, Albany State played with energy, purpose, and pride—delivering a performance worthy of the moment and the seniors who have helped build the program.

Game one set the tone early, as the Golden Rams erupted for five runs in the opening inning and never looked back. Ty Grover got things started with an RBI single before Arin Chevers delivered a two-run double. Mylon Uribe followed with a two-RBI single, capping off a dominant first-inning surge.

The offense continued to roll in the second when Grover launched a two-run home run, extending the lead and energizing the home crowd. Albany State kept applying pressure in the third, capitalizing on smart baserunning and timely execution to push the lead into double digits.

Grover was nearly unstoppable at the plate, finishing a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBIs, while Uribe added a home run and three RBIs of his own. Luke Addison also contributed a strong performance, scoring three runs and adding a home run in a well-rounded offensive effort.

On the mound, Colin Loeffler delivered a composed and efficient outing, tossing five scoreless innings to earn the win. He was backed by Calvin Baker, who closed things out as the Golden Rams secured the 15-1 victory.
If game one was dominant, game two was a complete showcase of depth and firepower.

After a quick response from Miles early, Albany State took full control in the third inning. Chevers once again came through in a big moment with a three-RBI double, sparking a rally that quickly shifted momentum. From there, the Golden Rams continued to pile on runs through disciplined at-bats and relentless pressure.

The fourth inning saw Albany State string together walks and timely hits to extend the lead, while the sixth inning turned into a full offensive explosion. The Golden Rams plated seven runs in the frame, highlighted by clutch hits from David Kile, Tony Dinkins, Luke Addison, and Jeremiah Reddell.

Grover continued his standout day with multiple hits and RBIs, while contributions came from across the lineup, showcasing the depth that makes Albany State so dangerous. In total, the Golden Rams tallied 18 runs on 14 hits, with consistent production from top to bottom.

On the mound, Albany State's pitching staff was equally impressive. The trio of arms combined to allow just two runs while striking out eight, controlling the pace and keeping Miles off balance throughout the contest.

The sweep was a fitting tribute to the Golden Rams seniors, who have left an undeniable mark on the program. Their leadership and dedication were reflected in a performance defined by focus, execution, and unity.

With momentum on their side, Albany State will now turn its attention to the final home game of the regular season as they look to close out the series strong and continue building toward postseason play.
