Albany, Ga. — In a game that had everything—early adversity, momentum swings, and a signature late-game surge—the Albany State Golden Rams showcased their resilience and firepower, battling back to defeat Miles College 15-11 in the series finale and complete a dominant home conference sweep.

Fueled by an explosive offense and clutch performances throughout the lineup, Albany State turned a back-and-forth contest into a statement victory on their home field.

After falling behind early, the Golden Rams immediately answered in the first inning when Aiden Payne crushed a two-run home run to right field, igniting the offense and setting the tone for a relentless day at the plate. Albany State continued to chip away in the second, capitalizing on aggressive baserunning and situational execution to take a 4-3 lead.

The back-and-forth battle continued into the middle innings, but the Golden Rams delivered one of their biggest moments in the fourth. Payne came through again with an RBI double before Tyler Turner added a run-scoring single. Moments later, Arin Chevers launched a two-run home run to center, pushing Albany State ahead and energizing the home crowd.

Trailing heading into the seventh, the Golden Rams delivered a defining response—an explosive five-run inning that flipped the game for good. Emory Stephens sparked the rally with an RBI single before David Cooper delivered a clutch two-RBI triple to give Albany State the lead. Mylon Uribe followed with an RBI single, and Jaden Camp capped the inning with an RBI double, showcasing the depth and determination of the Golden Rams lineup.

Albany State added an insurance run in the eighth, continuing to apply pressure and secure the victory.

At the plate, the Golden Rams were relentless, recording 16 hits and drawing 13 walks in a balanced offensive effort. Payne led the charge with a standout performance, finishing with three hits, four RBIs, and four runs scored, while Chevers added a home run and reached base multiple times. Stephens and Cooper each collected three hits, with Cooper's timely triple serving as a turning point in the game. Uribe also contributed multiple hits and RBIs, as nearly every spot in the lineup played a role in the comeback.

On the mound, Albany State's bullpen rose to the occasion when it mattered most. Dereck Foster delivered a dominant closing performance, earning the win with two scoreless innings while striking out four and shutting down Miles' offense in the final frames.

The victory capped off an impressive Senior Day weekend and home conference finale, as the Golden Rams combined offensive explosiveness with resilience and composure under pressure.

With momentum firmly on their side, Albany State now turns its attention to the road, heading to Americus, Ga., for its final non-conference game of the regular season against Georgia Southwestern on April 21.
