Albany, Ga. — The Albany State University women's tennis team is set to open the 2026 spring season at the SIAC Crossover #1 Tournament in Orlando, Fla. The three-day event runs Thursday, February 26, through Saturday, February 28, and marks the first opportunity for the Lady Golden Rams to showcase their depth and offseason progress against conference competition.
Albany State begins play on Day One (Feb. 26) with matchups against Tuskegee University and Clark Atlanta University. The Lady Golden Rams return to the courts on Day Two (Feb. 27) to face Spring Hill College and Savannah State University. The tournament concludes on Day Three (Feb. 28) with contests against Benedict College and Edward Waters University. The crossover format provides a demanding early-season test, challenging Albany State with multiple opponents and styles of play across the weekend.
Following the season opener, Albany State transitions into a balanced spring slate featuring both non-conference and SIAC contests. The Lady Golden Rams travel to Tifton, Ga., on March 5 for a meeting with Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), then head to Hilton Head Island for the PTR Springfest (March 11–13). Albany State returns home to the ASU West Campus Tennis Courts on March 16 to host Middle Georgia State University. Conference play intensifies at the SIAC Round Up #2 (March 31–April 2) in Mobile, Ala., before the team closes the regular season with its sights set on the SIAC Women's Tennis Championships (April 24–25) in Peachtree City, Ga.
With a mix of early conference challenges, competitive tournaments, and key home action, Albany State looks forward to building momentum throughout the spring as the Lady Golden Rams pursue success on the courts and a strong finish in postseason play.
