Albany State University to Host Homers for Hank Volunteer Project

Albany, Ga. – Albany State University will proudly host the Homers for Hank Volunteer Project on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the ASU West Campus Baseball and Softball Complex (2400 Gillionville Rd, Albany, GA 31707).

The initiative, part of the Henry Louis Aaron Fund's "Homers for Hank" Program in partnership with Truist and the Atlanta Braves, is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Hall of Famer Hank Aaron. Mr. Aaron's lifelong passion for education and his commitment to creating opportunities for diverse voices in baseball and softball continue to inspire this program. Homers for Hank focuses on equipment donations, field enhancements, and community projects that strengthen HBCU baseball and softball programs across Braves Country.

Albany State University becomes the fifth HBCU to benefit from improvements through the Homers for Hank initiative. Volunteers from the Atlanta Braves Foundation, Truist, and ASU student-athletes will come together for a day of service to refresh and enhance the baseball and softball facilities. Activities will include painting dugouts and assisting with field improvements. To celebrate the occasion, Braves and Truist representatives will distribute promotional items to ASU baseball and softball players at the conclusion of the event.
