Albany State Set to Host Willie Laster Invitational on Friday

Albany, Ga. – The Albany State University men's and women's cross-country teams are set to host the Willie Laster Invitational on Friday, September 19, 2025, marking the first time the Golden Rams have welcomed the meet since 2022. The event will take place at Radium Springs Park (310 Skywater Blvd, Albany, GA), with races beginning at 6:00 p.m.

This year's meet will feature a competitive field with 17 women's teams and 13 men's teams scheduled to compete. The Willie Laster Invitational has long been a highlight of Albany State's cross-country calendar, bringing together some of the strongest programs across the region for an evening of fast-paced competition.

The history of the meet is rich, with the Albany State women's cross-country team capturing the championship title in 2002, while Morehouse College was crowned the men's champion that year. With the return of the Invitational to Albany, the Golden Rams are eager to showcase their growth and compete for a strong finish in front of their home fans.

The event will be officially timed by Olympia Timing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Meet results will be posted to TFRRS immediately following both races, with all times, places, and team finishes distributed digitally.
