Albany, GA – Albany State University center
Jabari Williams is taking his talents to the international stage after officially signing with Club Cazadores in Tapachula, Mexico, to compete in the Circuito de Baloncesto del Pacífico (CIBAPAC). The St. John's, Antigua native will continue his basketball journey in one of Mexico's rapidly growing semi-professional leagues.
Williams, who served as the starting center for the Golden Rams during the 2024-25 season, brought size, skill, and consistency to the Albany State men's basketball program after transferring from Alabama State University. Williams made a major impact in his lone season with the Golden Rams.
Throughout the season, Jabari posted several impressive performances, including a season-high 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting against Spring Hill on December 2. A 12-rebound performance against Clark Atlanta on January 25 and a 3-block outing against Lane College on March 1. Williams also logged a season-high 38 minutes in a February 8 matchup against Morehouse College, showcasing his endurance and importance to the Golden Rams' game plan. His well-rounded play helped solidify Albany State's presence in the paint throughout the season.
Now, Williams transitions to Club Cazadores, a rising team in CIBAPAC, Mexico's Pacific Basketball Circuit. CIBAPAC was established in 2015 to develop young basketball talent across Northwestern Mexico and has expanded to include 31 teams across 10 states as of 2023. Club Cazadores, formerly known as the Raptors, joined the league in 2019 and has steadily built a reputation for grit and resilience, living by the motto of "leaving everything on the court."
With
Jabari Williams joining their roster, the Cazadores are adding a strong interior presence with international playing experience and a Division I and II pedigree. His addition is expected to provide a major boost to a team eager to climb the league standings and make a playoff push in the upcoming season.
"I have to give credit all of his former coaches, especially his national and prep coaches for the influence they've made on him to get to this point, " says Head Coach
Patrick Gayle. " We are very proud of Jabari and the work he put in here at Albany State. I've known about Jabari for some time, and I am looking forward to seeing what he does in his professional career."
The Albany State Athletics family congratulates
Jabari Williams on this exciting new chapter and wishes him continued success as he begins his professional career abroad.
