Lady Golden Rams Fall to Tuskegee in SIAC Championship Final, Conclude Season as Runner-Up

Peachtree City, GA — The Albany State University women's tennis team saw its impressive postseason run come to an end on Saturday afternoon, falling to Tuskegee University 0-4 in the 2025 SIAC Tennis Championship Final at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.

The Lady Golden Rams struggled to find their footing early, dropping the doubles point as Tuskegee came out strong on multiple courts to take the early lead. Despite a determined effort from ASU's pairings, Tuskegee secured the advantage heading into singles play.

In singles action, the Lady Golden Rams faced a tough challenge against a talented Tuskegee lineup. Albany State fought hard, but the Golden Tigers capitalized on early momentum and closed out the match by claiming straight-set wins in three singles contests to clinch the championship.

With the loss, Albany State concludes a successful 2025 season with a 13-7 overall record and a 13-3 mark in SIAC play, securing a second-place conference finish and a runner-up trophy at this year's SIAC Championship.

"I'm proud of the way our players fought this year," says  Head Coach JoAnn Matthew. "While the result today wasn't what we wanted, this group has laid the foundation for the future of this program."
The Lady Golden Rams will now look ahead to the offseason as they prepare to build on this year's success and return even stronger in 2026.
