Lady Golden Rams Set to Host Paine College in Friday Doubleheader

Albany, GA – The Albany State University (ASU) softball team returns to action on Friday, March 28, as they host Paine College in a non-conference doubleheader at the West Campus Softball Field. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. as the Lady Golden Rams look to extend their winning streak and continue their dominance in the all-time series against the Lady Lions.

ASU (14-9) is coming off an impressive performance, sweeping Wesleyan College on March 25 with commanding wins of 13-0 and 8-0. The Lady Golden Rams have shown a strong offensive presence, coupled with solid pitching and defense, as they continue to build momentum deep into the season.

Paine College (2-16) enters the contest following a split (1-1) against Trinity Baptist University on March 15. The Lady Lions have struggled this season but will aim to put up a strong fight against an ASU team that has historically dominated their matchups.

Series History
Albany State holds an overwhelming 26-1 series lead over Paine College, dating back to March 23, 2012. The Lady Golden Rams last faced the Lady Lions on February 21, 2024, earning a narrow 9-8 victory. Meanwhile, Paine's lone win against ASU came on February 12, 2023, in a closely contested 5-3 battle. Despite this, ASU has consistently had the upper hand in this matchup and will look to continue their winning ways.
