Despite the recent weather delay, the Golden Rams enter the series eager to make an early statement in SIAC play. Albany State holds a commanding 40-7 all-time series lead over Benedict College, dating back to 2008. The last time these two teams met in February 2024, the Golden Rams dominated the series sweep with convincing victories (17-2, 8-0, 9-1).

Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers opened SIAC competition last weekend against Fort Valley State, winning the series 2-1 and arriving in Albany with momentum on their side.

This series serves as an early-season conference test for both squads. For Albany State, it's a chance to defend home turf, extend their winning streak against Benedict, and build momentum in the SIAC standings. Meanwhile, Benedict looks to break through against the Rams and continue their strong start to conference play.
