Lady Golden Rams Fall 3-1 to Middle Georgia State in Road Contest

Cochran, Ga. — The Albany State University women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Middle Georgia State University on Monday evening. Despite the loss, the Lady Golden Rams showed grit and determination throughout the match, keeping each set competitive until the end.

The Lady Golden Rams were led offensively by Jarianis Perez, who delivered another stellar performance with 17 kills, 13 digs, and an ace. Jayda Watson followed with 8 kills, while Cydney McKinney added 6 kills and a team-high 3 blocks, providing a strong presence at the net.

At the setter position, MiMi Harris and Liannette Burgos shared playmaking duties effectively, each recording 19 assists to keep the ASU offense moving. Defensively, Talia Smith anchored the back line with 18 digs, while Harris and Perez chipped in 10 and 13, respectively, to round out a balanced defensive effort.

Although Albany State fell short, the team continued to display growth and resilience as they neared the end of regular-season play.

Up Next: The Lady Golden Rams (now 10-13 overall, 9-3 SIAC) remain on the road and will travel to West Point, Ga., to face Clinton College and Point University in a non-conference doubleheader this weekend.
