Lady Golden Rams Fall to Clark Atlanta on the Road

Atlanta, GA – The Albany State Lady Golden Rams faced a tough challenge on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers 64-49 at L.S. Epps Gymnasium. With the loss, the Lady Golden Rams dropped to 6-11 overall and 4-8 in SIAC play, while the Lady Panthers improved to 14-5 overall and 9-3 in the conference.

The Lady Golden Rams opened the game with strong defensive energy, holding Clark Atlanta to a narrow 15-12 lead in the first quarter. However, offensive struggles in the second quarter saw Albany State fall behind as Clark Atlanta built a 25-21 halftime advantage. Despite flashes of brilliance in the second half, the Lady Golden Rams were unable to sustain their momentum, with Clark Atlanta outscoring Albany State 22-12 in the third quarter to secure the lead for good.

Kayla Herrera was a standout performer for the Lady Golden Rams, leading the team with 12 points and 6 rebounds, showcasing her ability to impact the game on both ends of the court. Kendall Davis added a solid contribution with 8 points and 7 rebounds, while Keyra Peterson provided energy and leadership throughout the contest.

Up Next
The Lady Golden Rams will now take a few days to regroup before returning to the court for their next matchup. They will host rival Fort Valley State University on Saturday, February 1, at 4:00 PM in the Jones Brothers HPER Complex for Winter Homecoming. Fans and supporters are encouraged to pack the house as the Lady Golden Rams look to bounce back in a pivotal SIAC showdown.
