Albany, GA —The Albany State Lady Golden Rams opened the 2024 campaign versus Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) on Thursday (September 5th) afternoon. Despite their best efforts, the Lady Golden Rams fell 0-2 to the formidable AUM squad, which controlled the pace of the game from start to finish. Albany State falls to 0-1. Meanwhile, Auburn University at Montgomery improves to 1-2.
The Lady Warhawks demonstrated their offensive strength throughout the game by consistently taking shots at the Albany State goal. AUM unleashed 12 shots in the first half, putting the Rams' defense and goalkeeper to the test. Despite the Golden Rams' efforts to defend and save, the relentless pressure made it challenging to maintain possession and create scoring opportunities. In the second half, AUM once again took 12 shots, scoring twice and making it tough for Albany State to stage a comeback.
On the offensive side for the Lady Golden Rams,
Jordyn Keene stood out as a bright spot in an otherwise challenging game. She led Albany State with two shots, both of which were on target, though neither managed to breach AUM's defense. Her efforts provided a glimpse of potential in an otherwise tough match.
