Macon, GA – The Albany State University Women's Cross Country team delivered an impressive performance, finishing in 4th place at the prestigious Julius Johnson Invitational hosted by Mercer University on September 21. Competing against 14 teams, the Lady Golden Rams showed their strength and resilience, moving up one spot from last year's 5th-place finish.
Leading the way for Albany State was
Zenay Rhaney, who placed 30th overall with a season-best time of 20:22.8 in the 5K race. Rhaney's consistent pace and determination helped secure crucial points for the Lady Golden Rams. Not far behind was
Nathalia Rowe, finishing 34th with a time of 20:39.6, continuing her steady contributions to the team's success.
Dasia Gilyard also had a notable showing, finishing 45th with a time of 21:37.3. Gilyard's effort, along with strong performances from the rest of the squad, helped Albany State maintain a competitive edge in a crowded field of 14 teams, which included top programs from across the region.
With this solid performance, the Lady Golden Rams have set the tone for a promising season ahead. Their next challenge will be the ASICS Invitational, where they hope to build on this momentum and continue to rise in the rankings.
