Albany State Women’s Cross-Country Gains Experience at FSU Seminole Invitational

Tallahassee, Fla. - The Albany State University women's cross-country team took on a challenging field at the FSU Seminole Invitational on Friday, competing against 351 runners from 37 Division I and II institutions. In their first 6K race of the season, the Lady Golden Rams battled through the strong competition and finished in 27th place, gaining valuable experience at one of the region's premier meets.

Leading the way for Albany State was Brea Vann, who clocked a time of 25:21.9. She was closely followed by Faith Thompson (25:30.4) and Sydney Haywood (25:54.7), both of whom continued their consistent performances. Dasia Gilyard (27:05.4) and Kaila Wimes (27:16.2) rounded out the Lady Golden Rams' top five, each pushing through the competitive field to help secure the team's finish.

The FSU Invitational marked a key developmental step for Albany State, as the team tested themselves against a higher level of competition and adjusted to the longer 6K distance. With this experience under their belt, the
Lady Golden Rams will now turn their focus to building momentum heading into the remainder of the season.
