Carla Sorroche Suarez, a talented tennis player from Barcelona, Spain, has made a name for herself at Albany State University. Her journey to becoming a top athlete began when her little brother invited her to play tennis for fun. Little did she know; this simple invitation would ignite a passion within her and lead her to pursue a college degree in the United States. While studying sociology as an undergraduate, Carla continued to excel in tennis and is now pursuing her Master's in public administration.
 
One of Carla's most cherished memories is transferring to Albany State, where she found a sense of camaraderie and a supportive coach. Being a part of the tennis team has not only enhanced her athletic abilities but also helped her develop essential life skills such as time management, organization, and mental toughness. As Carla puts it, tennis is not just a physical game, but a mental one as well. The sport has taught her to remain focused and composed in high-pressure situations, both on and off the court.

However, with all the success and growth she has achieved, Carla also faced her fair share of challenges. One of the toughest obstacles she has encountered on the team is her own competitive spirit. As a team, they have consistently made it to the championships, but Carla admits that last year, they lacked the confidence to bring home the victory. But this year, with determination and hard work, she is hopeful that they can overcome this hurdle and bring home the championship ring.
