ALBANY, GA — The Albany State Golden Rams opened their 2024-25 home campaign with a hard-fought 66-60 victory over the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on November 13 at the West Campus Arena. With the win, ASU improves to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in SIAC play, while Tuskegee drops to 0-3 and 0-1 in the conference.
Shakur Poteat led the Golden Rams with a game-high 17 points and six assists, showcasing his playmaking ability and offensive versatility. His performance was complemented by the standout efforts of
Blaise Wallace, who recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, anchoring ASU on both ends of the court.
Cameron Evans added 14 points and five rebounds, while
Kendale Johnson contributed 15 points and four rebounds, rounding out a balanced scoring attack for the Golden Rams.
The game was tightly contested throughout, with both teams exchanging leads and battling through physical play. However, ASU's depth and defensive resilience in the second half helped them pull away in the final minutes to secure the win.
