Albany, GA – The Albany State Lady Golden Rams continued their dominance on the court this weekend, securing back-to-back victories over Savannah State and Edward Waters to extend their winning streak to four matches. With the weekend sweep, Albany State improves to 11-2 in the SIAC and 13-2 overall.
In Friday's thrilling five-set match against Savannah State, the Lady Golden Rams pulled out a 3-2 win, showcasing resilience and teamwork.
Jarianis Perez led ASU with an impressive 16 kills, supported by
Sydney Melton and
Kennedi Wallace, who each contributed seven.
Kaylin Teasley was a force at the net with six blocks, while
Liannette Burgos paced the team with 17 assists. Defensively,
Talia Smith's 21 digs were instrumental, alongside contributions from Melton and Perez with 16 digs each.
Saturday's matchup against Edward Waters ended in a 3-1 victory for the Lady Golden Rams. Perez once again led the offensive charge with 18 kills, with strong performances from Melton and
Jayda Watson, who added 14 kills each. Teasley added five blocks to her weekend tally, and Burgos led the assists with 27. Melton and Smith anchored the defense with 18 and 13 digs, respectively.
Next, the Lady Golden Rams will travel to Talladega College on Monday, October 28, for a 6 p.m. match.
