The Albany State Golden Rams softball team defeated the Clark-Atlanta Panthers (2-0) on Thursday evening at the ASU West Campus Softball Complex. With the win, the Golden Rams improved to (17-10) overall and (10-4) in the SIAC while the Panthers fell to (10-14) overall and (5-8) in the conference.
Trista Murphy improved to (6-4) as she pitched 7 scoreless innings for the Golden Rams. Murphy struck out 11 batters and only allowed 1 hit in the game.
The Golden Rams scored both runs in the bottom of the 3
rd inning. Morgan Brown hit a single to score
Madison Hurt for their 1
st run. The Golden Rams scored their 2
nd run on a fielding error by the Panthers.
Keyatta Ayers and
Glory Seay finished with 2 hits each for the Golden Rams. As a team, the Golden Rams finished with 6 total hits.
The Golden Rams and Panthers will play a double header on Friday, March 31. The first pitch is scheduled at 2:00 pm.
