The Albany State Golden Rams men and women's basketball teams were defeated by the Benedict Tigers in Columbia, South Carolina, on Monday evening. The Golden Rams lost to Allen University and Benedict College on their 2-game road trip to Columbia, South Carolina.
The Golden Rams men were defeated (63-54) by the Tigers. With the loss, the Golden Rams men fell to (7-17) overall and (7-11) in the SIAC while the Tigers improved to (15-9) overall and (13-5) in the conference. The Golden Rams are on a 2-game losing streak.
Maurice Dickson led the Golden Rams with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Terin Wofford also scored 12 points for the Golden Rams.
The Golden Rams women lost (72-58) to the Tigers. With the loss, the Golden Rams women fell to (6-16) overall and (4-12) in the conference while the Tigers improved to (11-13) overall and (9-8) in the conference. The Golden Rams have now lost 8-games in a row.
Tachanda Castling led the Golden Rams with 14 points and 4 rebounds while
Kashay Hankerson contributed with 11 points and 4 assists.
Albany State will host Fort Valley State University for Basketball Homecoming on Saturday, February 11. The women will play at 4:00 pm and the men will follow at approximately 6:00 pm. The games will be played at the ASU East Campus. Doors will open at 3:00 pm!
