The Albany State Golden Rams men and women's basketball teams both lost in the 1
st round in the SIAC Tournament on Monday in Savannah, Georgia.
The men were defeated (83-70) by the Kentucky State Thorobreds. The Golden Rams trailed the Thorobreds (37-31) at the half and were outscored (46-39) in the 2
nd half.
Malik Parker led the Golden Rams with 19 points.
Terin Wofford, who was named the SIAC Freshman of the Year, finished with 10 points.
The Golden Rams women lost (50-53) to the Lane College Dragons. The Golden Rams missed 2 shots near the basket while trailing by 1 point with under 10 seconds remaining.
Milana Holmes was the only player for the Golden Rams in double figures. Holmes finished with 23 points and 9 rebounds.
