The Albany State Golden Rams baseball team swept the Tuskegee Golden Tigers in the SIAC Opener on this weekend at the ASU West Campus. The Golden Rams dominated from start to finish as they defeated the Golden Tigers (17-1) in 7 innings on Sunday afternoon.
With the series sweep, the Golden Rams improved to (4-2) on the season and (3-0) in the SIAC while the Golden Tigers fell to (1-8) overall and (0-3) in the conference.
The Golden Rams scored 17 runs on 14 hits. Defensively, the Golden Rams only committed 1 error, which occurred in the Top of the 7
th inning.
Leading (3-0), the Golden Rams exploded for 14 runs in the 5
th inning.
Hill Corley had 3 hits, including a double, for the Golden Rams.
Jonathan Logsdon also hit a double in the game. Logsdon finished with 2 hits.
Jaelyn Brooks and
Pierce Thomas each had 2 hits as well for the Golden Rams.
Landon Kiefer secured the win for the Golden Rams. Kiefer is (1-1) on the season. Kiefer pitched 6 innings and allowed 1 hit.
