The Albany State women and men's basketball teams split with the Allen University Yellow Jackets at the ASU West Campus Arena on Monday afternoon. The women lost (59-55) while the men were victorious in overtime by the score of (76-71).
The Golden Rams women's team fell to (6-11) overall and (4-7) in the SIAC while the Yellow Jackets improved to (8-6) overall and (5-5) in the SIAC.
Juanisha Black led the Golden Rams with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Kashay Hankerson added 12 points and 3 rebounds.
The Yellow Jackets had 4 players to score in double figures. Destinee Jamison-Whitfield led the Yellow Jackets with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Keyshuna Fair contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Cardrina Nolen and Kayla Pope added 11 points each for the Yellow Jackets.
In game 2, the Golden Rams men improved to (4-13) overall and (4-7) in the SIAC while the Yellow Jackets fell to (2-14) overall and (2-9) in the conference.
Maxwell Harris led the Golden Rams with 22 points and 9 rebounds.
Sammie Mike added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Malik Parker finished with 11 points and 3 assists while
Maurice Dickson added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
