FAMU Needed Overtime to Defeat Albany State in Exhibition Thriller

The Albany State Golden Rams lost (70-65) to the FAMU Rattlers in an exhibition thriller that went into overtime on Monday evening in Tallahassee, Florida.  Despite being deemed an exhibition, the game was extremely exciting and competitive until the final horn in overtime.
 
The Golden Rams went toe to toe with the Division I FAMU Rattlers and led (24-21) at the half.  The teams exchanged leads throughout the 2nd half.  With 9:57 remaining in the game, the Rattlers led (43-42).  The teams continue to battle in the 2nd period.  At the 3:37 mark, the Rattlers continued to lead by 1 point (53-52).  At the end of regulation, the game was tied (59-59).
 
The Rattlers scored the first 7 points in overtime and established a (66-59) lead.  But, the Golden Rams battled back to cut the lead to 1 point.  The Rattlers scored their final 4 points from the free throw line to escape with a (70-65) win in the exhibition.
 
Jamir Moore led the Golden Rams with 21 points.  Moore was 7/9 from the 3-point line.  Maurice Dickson finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
 
The Golden Rams shot 18/54 (33.3%) from the field in the game.  The Golden Rams connected on 10/23 (43.5%) from the 3-point line.  The Golden Rams also made 19/27 (70.4%) attempts from the free throw line in the game. 
 
The Rattlers had 3 players in double figures.  Jordan Chatman led the Rattlers with 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Byron Smith contributed with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.  Jaylen Bates finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
