The Albany State University Golden Rams were defeated 73-69 by the Morehouse Maroon Tigers on Saturday afternoon at the ASU West Arena.
 
The Maroon Tigers led 37-28 at the half.  In the first half, the Golden Rams shot 33.3% from the field, 25% from the 3-point line and 50% from the free throw line.  The Maroon Tigers shot 51.7% from the field, 30.8% from the 3-point line and 50% from the free throw line.
 
Jordan Simpson led the Golden Rams with 10 points in the 1^st half.  Malik Parker chipped in with 9 points and Travis Baker scored 7 points.  The trio combined for 26 of the Golden Rams 28 points at the half.  Jordan Sterling and Noah Morgan led the Maroon Tigers with 9 points each at the half.
 
After being down by as many as 12 points in the 2^nd half, the Golden Rams closed the gap to 61-56 with 7:14 left in the game.  The Golden Rams continued to chip away at the Morehouse lead to make it 71-69 with 37 seconds left in the game.  After forcing a Morehouse turnover near half court, the Golden Rams had an opportunity to tie the game or take the lead.  However, a costly turnover by the Golden Rams would seal their fate as they were forced to foul Morehouse with 2.9 seconds remaining.  Morehouse would make both free throws and defeat the Golden Rams 73-69.
 
Jordan Simpson led the Golden Rams with 17 points and 13 rebounds.  Malik Parker and Maxwell Harris scored 13 points each.  Travis Baker finished with 12 points off the bench.
 
Noah Morgan led the Maroon Tigers with 16 points.  Jordan Sterling and Ibn Williams scored 12 points each.  Kerry Richardson finished with 11 points.
