COLUMBUS, Ga. (March 24, 2021) –
Wyatt Setian had a home run as the Golden Rams baseball team fell to host Columbus State University, 8-3 on Wednesday evening.
The Golden Rams added its three run in the third inning as
Wyatt Setian hit me out of the park to record three RBIs. The Cougars used a combination of six runs in the seventh and eighth innings to take the victory.
TJ Thomas went 2-for-4 and scored a run.
Chase Karn,
Lachlan Ross, Kevin Bryant and
Gavin Sloan all recorded one hit each.
On the mound,
Jonathan Henry fell to 2-1 with the loss, allowing four hits and three runs in the one inning pitched.
Malik Barrington,
Brock Rountree and
Michael Reddick also saw innings on the mound for the Golden Rams.
The Golden Rams (10-6) was the first team on board in the top of the third inning, but it was CSU that plated two run to cut ASU's lead 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Golden Rams remained scoreless for the rest of the contest.
The Cougar took the lead in the seventh inning with three runs on three hits, including two home runs and three RBIs.
CSU continued to pull ahead with three runs in the eighth to take the victory.
Albany State returns to action on March 30th as they travel to Americus, Georgia for a matchup against Georgia Southwestern State University. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m.
