ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University baseball team yielded a split decision (L: 5-2, W:15-4) to the Tigers of Savannah State University this afternoon.
Albany State and Savannah State opened the contest battling for the lead with no runs being added in the first three innings. In the top of the fourth inning, the Tigers got on the board first with Turner Davis single to left field to bring Andrai Wright and Luis Lamarche across home plate. Phillip Woullard Jr. then doubled to center field to score Turner Davis and Dwayne Franklin giving the Tigers a 4-0 lead. The Tigers of Savannah State University added its final run of the contest in the sixth inning with Franklin reaching base on a Golden Rams error and Davis coming across home plate.
In the bottom of the seventh inning,
Lachlan Ross doubled to left field to bring TJ Thomas and
Chasen Roulhac across home plate. The Tigers then cruised to a 5-2 victory.
The Golden Rams was led by
Lachlan Ross was two- for- four at the plate recording two RBI's. Albany State finished the contest with three hits, one error and eight LOBs.
Michael Reddick started things on the mound for ASU pitching six innings only allowing five runs, six hits, three walks and nine strikeouts in the 27 batters faced.
William Antunez finished on the mound for the Golden Rams pitching one inning facing three batters.

In game two the Golden Rams started with
Lachlan Ross tripled to left field to bring TJ Thomas and
Chase Karn across home plate.
Lachlan Ross then stole home to give the Golden Rams a 3-0 lead. The Golden Rams closed out the first inning with
Chasen Roulhac single to right field to score
Will Barry and
Wyatt Setian to edge the Tigers of Savannah State University 5-0. In the bottom of the second inning
Will Barry singled to right field to plate Kevin Bryant and
Lachlan Ross with Albany State advancing it's lead 7-0. Impressive pitch work by the Golden Rams kept Savannah State University scoreless the next two innings.

Pierce Thomas singled to right field to bring

Will Barry across home plate. The Golden Rams closed out the inning with
Jonathan Palmer scoring on a pass ball to give the ASU a 12-0 lead. The Tigers answered with adding its first run of the contest in the top of the fifth inning. Gabriel Patxot singled to center field to score Phillip Woullard Jr. to cut ASU's lead 12-1. Albany State answered in bottom of the fifth plating three runs to take a 15-1 lead. The Tigers then plated three runs in the seventh inning with the Golden Rams cruising to the 15-4 victory.

Pierce Thomas who were both two- for- two at the plate. Albany State finished the contest with 13 hits and eight LOBs.
Jon Henry started things on the mound for ASU pitching five innings only allowing one run, three hits, three walks and five strikeouts in the 20 batters faced. Garret Miller and
William Beasley both finished on the mound for the Golden Rams pitching one inning each.
Albany State will return to action on Wednesday, March 24 when they travel to Columbus, Georgia for a midweek matchup against the Cougars of Columbus State University. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
