ALBANY, Ga. – Using a complete game shutout from senior Aryn McGwan and two home runs from
Megan Shepherd and
Lavette Tucker, the Albany State University softball team defeated Fort Valley State on Friday night, 5-0. McGowan pitched the entire contest, giving up just five hits with eight strikeouts. Tucker went 3-for-4 collecting a home run and four (4) RBIs. Shephersd also collected a home run for the Golden Rams in the bottom of the third to put the game out of reach. Shepherd was perfect at the plate in the win, including a home run, a run scored and one RBI. Albany State finished the contest collecting 15 hits while Fort Valley State had five htis.
Albany State improves to 14-27 on the season and will continue close out the weekend series against Fort Valley State University on April 20
th. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
