ALBANY, Ga. | The Albany State baseball team continued their weekend series with Emmanuel College on Saturday.
For the second day in a row, the Golden Rams took a multi-run lead into the 9th inning, but failed to close out the visitors.Â
After a scoreless top half of the 1st, Kevin Bryant II got the scoring going for the hosts with a double down the right field line to plate Ernis Reyes.
Both teams pushed two runs each across the plate in the second inning. ASU played small ball, aided by an Emmanuel error to score Kyle Walker and Quantico Dodson-Williams.
It was all ASU over the next three innings as the Golden Rams scored four runs on four hits, highlighted by a 2-RBI double to right field by Johnathan Cirullo on their way to a 7-3 lead entering the 8th inning.Â
The Lions offense came alive over the final six outs, scoring five runs on five hits capped off by a sacrifice fly by Jorge Villal to give the visitors a 8-7 lead.
Roman Oliu picked up a no decision in 7.0 innings of work.Â
Tre Turner (0-1) took the loss, going 1.2 innings and striking out four batters.
Albany State (2-3) concludes their series with Emmanuel on Sunday, February 10th, with a single game beginning at 1:00 pm.
