CARROLLTON, Ga. – The ASU women's basketball team suffered a tough 93-75 loss to the UWG women's basketball team on Thursday night at The Coliseum.

The Wolves trailed Albany State by seven at the halftime break, but the Wolves scored 58 second half points, including converting 18-of-20 free throws to come back and win the game by 18 points. UWG's Taylor Brown had a career night scoring 29 points with five rebounds and four assists. Ciera Norman led the Golden Rams with a game-high 23 points with four rebounds and two steals.

The opening quarter was extremely tight as the lead didn't get over three for West Georgia until there were just 36 seconds left in the quarter and a Lanee' Edwards layup made it a 23-18 UWG advantage.

Under three minutes into the second quarter, the Rams had used an 11-1 run to flip the script and lead by five, and extended the lead to double digits at 42-32 with 00:49 seconds left, but UWG's Tahya Campbell hit a late three, sending the game to halftime at 42-35, Golden Rams.

The Wolves opened the third quarter on a 9-0 run that took just over a minute, regaining the lead at 44-42. The lead would go back-and-forth over the remainder of the period, with two free throws by Jailyn Shaw cutting it to a 66-65 Albany State lead after three quarters.

West Georgia outscored the Golden Rams 28-9 over the final 10 minutes of the game with their largest lead of 18 coming at the final horn.
