MOBILE, Ala. | The Golden Rams faced off against Spring Hill College on Saturday.
ASU led by as many as 18 points in the second half, but a scrappy Badgers squad fought back to tie the game and force overtime.
Albany State made three of their first four shots in the extra frame to jump out front, and the defense limited the host Badgers to just two field goal attempts.
Free throws from Spring Hill tied the game with 46 seconds remaining, but ASU came down and immediately scored a bucket to retake the lead and win the game, 76-74.
Four players scored in double-figures for Albany State (6-10, 5-2) led by Mario Young who posted a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds).
Jared Harrington led the team with 17 points. Randy McClure added 16 points and Tyrell Williams finished with 12 points.
Andrew Dotson had a game-high 23 points for Spring Hill (5-9, 1-4).
ASU will play a mid-week game on Tuesday, January 8th when they travel to Franklin Springs for a non-conference game with Emmanuel College. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm.
