ATLANTA, Ga. | Albany State spent Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the city where the reverend was born. The Golden Rams took on the leaders in the SIAC East, Morehouse College.
The Maroon Tiger held a seven point lead at halftime and pushed it to nine points a minute into the second half before ASU outscored the hosts 16-6 over the next eight minutes to take a 37-36 lead.Â
The advantage was short-lived as Robert Andrews made a three on the next possession that sparked a 13-0 run that gave MHC the lead for good.
Napoleon Harris recorded his second straight double-double for Albany State (7-13, 6-4)Â with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Tyrell Williams added 11 points and Mario Young finished with 10 points.
Roberts had a game-high 23 points for Morehouse (15-2, 9-2).
The Golden Rams return home to host Benedict College on Saturday, January 26th. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
