ALBANY, Ga.– Georgia College came out hot in the second half to hold Albany University scoreless and defeat the Golden Rams 7-0.
Alyssa Bergamini scored the first goal for Georgia, assisted by Madi Diaz Granados right before the buzzer. Albany trailed Georgia 1-0 heading into intermission.
It only took 10 minutes into the second stanza for the Bobcats took control of the match. Amanda Bartholomew found the back of the net followed by another put-in from Cassie Balzanno two minutes later. One minute after that, Balzanno found Brooke Adams for another notch on the board putting Georgia up 4-0 over Albany.
Bartholomew scored her second goal of the night in the 69
thminute and assisted Anya Mancinelli with her first goal of the match giving the Bobcats a 6-0 advantage.
Alexis Bergamini scored the final goal for Georgia, collecting the rebound off an empty net.
Albany State returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 3 when travel to Clayton State University. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
