RAMS FALL ON THE ROAD TO GEORGIA COLLEGE 13-3

RAMS FALL ON THE ROAD TO GEORGIA COLLEGE 13-3

MILLEDGEVILLE- The Georgia College Bobcats rolled to a 13-3 win over Albany State University Tuesday afternoon at John Kurtz Field.

Logan Mattix led the way for the Bobcats, with 4RBI including a three run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning. Wesley Wommack also hit a home run which scored two in the bottom of the second for Georgia College.

The Rams trailed 4-2 headed to the bottom half of the third inning when a bases loaded walk put another run on the board for the Bobcats. A wild pitch scored another run and then Wommack singled up the middle to bring in Matthew Miller and Cal Gentry and the Bobcats pulled ahead 7-2.

Georgia College (15-6) put up another four run inning in the fifth and Wommack came home on a fielder's choice in the sixth to account for the Bobcat's runs scored. For the game the Bobcats scattered 16 hits while the Golden Rams, who stranded six runs over nine innings, managed 6 hits on the afternoon.

Tyler Morris, Ryan McClendon and Johnathan Cirulo had two hits apiece in the game. The Rams scored two runs in their half of the second and one in the eighth.

The Golden Rams (8-7) will return to action this weekend with a three game series against Kentucky State University. The first game is scheduled for 1pm on Saturday at West Campus Field.
