HARRINGTON NETS SEASON HIGH IN RAMS' LOSS TO CLARK-ATLANTA

February 19, 2018

ATLANTA- Clark-Atlanta University responded to every rally by the Albany State Golden Rams, ultimately prevailing 82-69 Monday night.

Jared Harrington led all scorers with 28 points, which represents a personal best for him this season. The Rams faced a 34-29 deficit at the intermission but after a layup by Harrington with 13:13 left in the game, the Panthers clung to a two point lead (44-42).

ASU stayed within gunning distance, trailing CAU by single digits until a three pointer by Jalen Mitchell put the Panthers up 64-52 with 7 minutes left. Harrington, who netted 18 points in the second half, then scored six straight for ASU including two free throws to pull the Rams within six, 66-60 with 4:34 to go.

The Panthers responded by reeling off seven unanswered and the Rams were held to just two field goals over the final five minutes of the game.

The first half had ten lead changes and 4 ties, the last coming at 29-29 with 2:10 left before halftime. CAU went 5-6 from the free throw line over the final 1:41 to take the five point halftime advantage.

The Panthers placed four players in double figures including Anthony Williams and Damien Davis who finished with 23 and 20 points, respectively.
