GOLDEN RAMS DROP TENNIS OPENER TO POINT UNIVERSITY

ALBANY- The Albany State University women's tennis team fell in their season opener to Point University 8-1 Saturday morning on West Campus.

The Seahawks swept the doubles competitions and five out of six singles matches to improve to 2-0 on the year. In the #1 and #3 competitions, both Sofia Villalobos and Katie Larck won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 over ASU's Latoya Boyd and Jordon Foston, respectively. Darien Davis and Lindsay Ashford fought to the wire in a see saw doubles match but ultimately fell to the pair of Eman Cohen and Ashley Lane 9-7.

The Golden Rams only win on the day came courtesy of Lindsay Ashford who defeated Lane 8-2 in their #6 matchup.

ASU will return to action later this afternoon against Florida Tech.
