COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AT GEORGIA COLLEGE

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. |  Albany State hit the road Saturday for a non-conference matchup with the Bobcats of Georgia College. The Golden Rams fell to the host school, 79-67.

Albany State led the Bobcats after one quarter of play, but hit a lull in the second and third quarters and trailed 61-42 entering the final frame. The Golden Rams charged back and cut the deficit to five with three minutes to play, but the Bobcats were red-hot from beyond the arc and it proved too much for the visitors to overcome.

Tyra Thompson led Albany State (3-7) with 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting. Ciera Norman added 11 points and Yolanda Givens scored 10 points. 

Jasmine McSwain scored a game-high 21 points for Georgia College (4-5).

The Golden Rams are back in conference action on Saturday when they travel to Birmingham, Ala. and take on Miles College. ASU won both matchups against the Golden Bears last season.
