NEWBERRY, S.C.– Albany State University Golden Rams were shut out by the Newberry College Wolves on Monday afternoon at Newberry.
 
The Wolves held a 2-0 lead after the first 45-minute stanza with goals by Monica Jimenez, assisted by Deisi Hernandez and Taylor Hiatt, assisted by Kailee Erwin. Despite seven attempts, the Golden Rams could not capitalize offensively. 
 
Newberry would score their third and final goal of the match early in the second stanza. This time Salley Slice found Daphne Heyaime for her eighth goal of the season. 
 
Abby Whiteside led the defensive effort for the Rams with six saves for the game. 
 
Albany State returns to action at home on Wednesday, Oct. 17 when they will host Taladega College at 2:00 p.m.
