Rahdin Hughes Notches Season Highs in Points, Steal in ASU Victory

AUGUSTA, GA- The Albany State University Golden Rams rode a huge first half to a 74-49 win over Paine College Monday night in at the HEAL Complex.
The Lions trailed the entire way and had no one registered double figures in the contest. Paine College slips to 4-12 overall and 3-8 in the SIAC.
Behind a season high 24 points from Rahdin Hughes, the Rams snap a four game losing streak.
Randy McClure and Tyler Walker rounded out the double figure scorers for the Golden Rams with 16 and 10 points, respectively. The Golden Rams shot an impressive 56% in the first half and with a 14-2 run capped off with a fast break layup by Jason Snearl, ASU took a 34-18 lead at the 4:18 mark. Hughes also registered a personal best with 7 steals in the contest.
Albany State's largest lead of the night was a 31 point spread, 51-25 when Hughes converted a three point play on an assist from Walker. Additionally ASU scored 35 points off 24 Lion turnovers.
The Golden Rams also held Paine to just 19 made field goals and 2 of 19 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.
Albany State will hit the road on Saturday to take on Benedict College in Columbia, SC. Game time is scheduled for 3pm.
