Golden Rams lose final home game to Auburn-Montgomery

ALBANY, Ga.- The Albany State baseball team losing streak extended to three games after its loss to Auburn-Montgomery. ASU drop an 8-3 decision to the Warhawks to close out its 2017 home schedule.
 
The Golden Rams fall to 16-26 overall, while AUM improves to 25-22.
 
Albany State fell behind in the first five innings of the game. Auburn-Montgomery took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third. The Warhawks added four more runs in the fifth for a 6-0 edge.
 
The Golden rams didn't score until the bottom of the eighth inning. Theo Smith and Kelvin Wimbish both scored off errors. Nicolas Griggs hit a double to send Jonathan Cirullo home, and ASU only trailed 6-3.
 
Albany State's comeback hopes were dashed when AUM scored two runs in the top of the ninth. ASU could not push anymore runs across the plate.
 
Quantico Dodson Williams led Albany State with three hits. The Golden Rams had eight runs, four errors and seven runners left on base. Chancellor Johnson was the losing pitcher.
 
Albany State will close out its regular season on road. ASU will travel to Frankfort, Ky. to face Kentucky State University in an SIAC three-game series.
