Golden Rams fall to Georgia College on the road

ALBANY, Ga.- The Albany State baseball team could not win its first game of the season. ASU fell victim to Georgia College by the score of 12-1.
 
With the loss, the Golden Rams remain winless on the season with an 0-12 overall record. Georgia College improves to
 
Albany State found itself behind early. After the first three inning, Georgia College build a 9-0 advantage.
 
ASU scored its only run in the top of the sixth inning. Nic Griggs single to center field was good for scoring Chasen Roulhac. However, the Bobcats scored three more runs in the bottom of the stanza. The game ended in the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule.
 
The Golden Rams recorded four hits, and error and four runners left on base. Chancellor Johnson was the losing pitcher.
 
Logan Mattix led Georgia College with four hits and three RBIs. Brandon Benson added two hits and four RBIs.
 
The Bobcats collected 13 hits and only left one runner on base.
 
Albany State will return to action on Wednesday, March 1 when they travel to Lawrenceville, Ga. to face Georgia Gwinnett College. The Grizzlies won Feb. 8 meeting 17-1. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
