Golden Rams still winless after loss to Quincy University

DAHLONEGA, Ga.- The Albany State baseball team could not find the winner's circle in its 10 outing of the year. Playing on the second day of Nighthawks Nest Classic at the University of North Georgia, ASU lost to Quincy University (Ill.) by the score of 12-0.
 
The loss gives the Golden Rams an 0-10 overall record, while Quincy improves to 4-2.
 
Already trailing 1-0 after the first inning, Albany State fell behind further in the bottom of the third when Quincy score six run for a 7-0 lead. During the rest of the game, the Hawks added two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the seventh to pull away from the Golden Rams.
 
Nic Griggs led Albany State with two hits, and Chasen Roulhac was the losing pitcher. The Golden Rams had seven hits, two errors and 10 runners left on base.
 
Quincy was led by Hunter Hayes, who recorded three hits and four RBIs. Dominic Miles and Jake Walters each tallied two hits and two RBIs. Graham Spraker was the winning pitcher.
 
The Hawks, who hit four homeruns during the contest, collected 14 hits, no errors and six LOBs.
 
Albany State will continue in the tournament on Sunday, Feb. 26 when it faces host North Georgia. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
