Golden Rams can’t ground North Georgia Nighthawks

DAHLONEGA, Ga.- The Albany State baseball team experienced another tough outing at the Nighthawks Nest Classic on Sunday afternoon. ASU lost to host University of North Georgia by the score of 19-4.

The loss gives the Golden Rams an 0-11 overall. UNG improves to 10-3.

After two scoreless innings, Albany State faced a deficit after the third and fourth innings. North Georgia scored three runs apiece in both stanzas to build a 6-0 lead.

ASU made a rally in the top of the fifth inning. Theo Smith scored when Lawrence Hyde grounded out to the short stop, and Terrence Worthy, who earlier hit a double, went home courtesy of Chasen Roulhac's double. Kelvin Wimbish's single scored Roulhac, and the Golden Rams only trailed 6-3.

However, the Hawks used the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to pull away. UNG scored three and six runs, respectively, in those innings to generate a 15-3 advantage.
