Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Golden Rams scratched by archrival Wildcats

ALBANY, Ga.- Junior Michael Green scored all 15 of his points in the second half, but it wasn't enough to help the Albany State men's basketball team overcome an early deficit. ASU dropped an 87-65 decision to archrival Fort Valley State on its basketball homecoming.

With the loss, the Golden Rams drop their fourth straight game and fall to 10-16 overall and 5-11 in the SIAC. FVSU improves to 14-12, 11-5.

With Khaliq Hughes sidelined with a season-ending injury and Green picking up his second foul in less than three minutes of play, Albany State had difficulty generating offense. In the second half, Fort Valley State increased its lead to 22, 55-33, at the 18:48 mark. With 7:08 left in regulation, Jackson Lenyear made a layup to cut ASU's deficit to 69-59. However, the Wildcats pulled away once again and sent the home team to defeat.
