Lady Rams lose low-scoring duel with Lander

COLUMBUS, Ga.- The Albany State women's softball team held Lander University to a low amount of runs, but it could not generate any other its own. ASU could not mount any offense and fell to the Lady Bearcats by the score of 2-0. The game was the first contest at the Cougar Classic hosted by Columbus State University.
 
The loss keeps the Lady Rams winless on season at 0-5. Lander wins its first game of the season and now stands at 1-3 overall.
 
After failing to score in the top of the first inning, Albany State found itself behind 2-0 when the stanza ended. For the rest of the contest, neither team could score any more runs. The Lady Rams left eight total batters on the bases but could not send any to home plate.
 
ASU did record five hits as a team and did not commit any errors. The team also held Lander to four hits. Tiffany Massey (0-2) was the losing pitcher.
 
The Lady Bearcats were led by Logan Leverette, who recorded two hits and one RBI. McKenzi Ferguson was the winning pitcher.
