BOBCATS PULL AWAY LATE IN A 76-61 WIN OVER ALBANY STATE

MILLEDGEVILLE- The Georgia College Bobcats went on a run midway through the second half to capture a 76-61 win over Albany State University Monday night.
The game remained scoreless for the opening two minutes until Chapin Rierson put the Bobcats on the board first with a three pointer at the 17:33 mark. The Golden Rams countered a minute and half later when
Tylen Walker connected from beyond the three point arc to tie the game.
Georgia College then went on an 8-0 run for an 11-3 score but the Rams would whittle their deficit down to two with an 8-2 spurt, capped on a jumper by
Jared Harrington with 9:32 left in the first half.
The Bobcats pushed the lead up to 10 with 15 seconds left in the half but a three pointer by
Jayson Snearl on the Rams last possession made the score 36-29 at the intermission.
With 13:01 left in the game, the Bobcats (4-3) mustered a 15-1 run that spanned 6 ½ minutes and punctuated by a dunk from Garrick DeBowles, Georgia College held a commanding 66-46 lead.
JaDon Davis's jumper at the 7:16 mark broke the Golden Rams' scorning drought as their last basket came nearly 7 minutes earlier via a three-pointer, also from Davis.
Albany State would get no closer than 14 points the rest of the way.
Issac Thomas led all performers with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Walker paced ASU with 12 points on the evening.
Albany State will host the Bobcats on Saturday at West Campus Arena. Game time is scheduled for 8pm
