GEORGIA COLLEGE RALLIES FROM HALFTIME DEFICIT; DEFEATS GOLDEN RAMS 60-56

ALBANY- The Georgia College Bobcats battled back from a nine point halftime deficit to edge Albany State University 60-56 Saturday night at West Campus Arena.
Kohl Roberts and Isaac Thomas paced Georgia College with 14 points apiece. Roberts finished with a double-double on the evening with a game best 14 rebounds.
Georgia College bounced back from a lackluster performance in the first half by outscoring the Rams 16-2 to open the second half of play. Albany State was held without a field goal until the 12 minute mark of the second half, a drought that was snapped with on a layup by Michael Green.
That run gave the Bobcats (5-3) their first lead since the 11:25 point of the opening half when a three-pointer by Justin Cave gave them a 14-13 advantage.
Behind 10 points each from
Rahdin Hughes and
Tylen Walker, the Golden Rams charged out to a 35-26 lead at the intermission. Defensively ASU held the Wildcats to just 37 % shooting in the first half and scored 10 points off of Georgia College's turnovers.
On the flip side, the game shifted in the second half as the Golden Rams only connected on 6 of 28 from the floor and were outscored 34-21. The Bobcats took their biggest lead of the night, 46-39 after two free throws from Austin Dukes but the Rams would battle back after Hughes sank two from the charity stripe and a then a go ahead basket from Green with 6:51 left to play.
ASU got one basket when the game was still in limbo, a three pointer from Walker to make the score 52-51 in favor the Bobcats with 4:06 left. While the Golden Rams failed to connect from the field, GSC went 4-6 from the line and got two clutch jumpers from Jordan Thomas to close out the win.
Hughes finished with a game high 16 points and Walker chipped in with 15 points.
Albany State will return to action on December 12
th at Georgia Southwestern in Americus, Georgia. Game time is scheduled for 3pm.
