BIRMINGHAM, AL- Kentucky State University advanced in the SIAC Volleyball Tournament with a four set win over Albany State University Thursday afternoon at the Birmingham Sportsplex.

The Lady Golden Rams will face the winner of the 5pm contest between LeMoyne-Owen and Benedict for a chance to move on to the Championship game.

The two teams split the first two sets in a tightly contested match where KSU prevailed 27-25, 28-30, 25-23 and 25-18. The Thoroughbreds improve to 25-12 on the season and move on to the Championship game tomorrow at 2pm to face the winner out of the loser's bracket.

Kentucky State had five players to register double digit kills, including Jalynn Roberts, Robin Poole and Landry Greathouse who each contributed 14 apiece. KSU outmatch the Lady Golden Rams in kills 69-39, and digs 83-69. ASU put up a strong service game with 10 aces in the match but were held to just .103 hitting as a team. Defensively KSU held ASU at bay with 12.0 team blocks (1 solo, 22 assisted).

Jannai Cheeks led ASU with 13 kills followed by Justice Howard who chipped in with 10.
