Lady Golden Rams' Season Come to an End at Volleyball Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, AL- LeMoyne-Owen College ended Albany State University's run at the 2017 SIAC Volleyball Tournament in three sets Thursday night at the Birmingham Sportsplex.

After topping ASU 25-22, 25-19, 25-18, the Magicians move on to face Kentucky State University tomorrow's SIAC Championship game.

Chelona Holmes finished with a game high 15 kills in the final game of her career as a Lady Golden Ram. Justice Howard also registered double digits in kills with 10.

The teams were evenly matched so the margin of error was very small and that difference showed up in the LOC's service game. As the Lady Golden Rams lost by a combined 16 points over the three set match, they lost 9 points to reception errors off of the Magician's aces. The two teams drew even with 54 digs each and LeMoyne was slightly better in team blocks 6.0 to 3.0.

Jasmine Davis put forth a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs as the Magician's improve to 24-10 on the season. The Lady Golden Rams wrap the 2017 season at 18-12 overall.
